The Management Association of the Philippines congratulates the Department of the Tourism (DOT) for the launch of “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” as its new tourism branding campaign.
Following robust discussions across social media channels like Facebook and Twitter, the new branding campaign has prompted Filipino online audiences to participate in the process of creating the Philippine tourism brand. Along with the National Branding Committee of MAP, the private sector is also keen to play an active role in this process.
DOT in its statement said that the new tourism brand is based on the Philippines’ core strength, the element “that no other destination can offer—and that is the Filipino people.”
It's More Fun in the Philippines follows the idea of the Filipino as the core of the Philippine country brand. Branding the Philippines: Champioining the Filipino has been EON's flagship advocacy since 2006. Watch our story below:
“We appreciate the efforts of Secretary Ramon Jimenez as this new campaign follows the country branding framework that MAP has advocated starting in 2011 – that Filipinos are at the core of our national country brand. We encourage all countrymen to own and support this campaign as the best ambassadors of the Philippine brand will always be the Filipino people,” said MAP President Mr. Eduardo Francisco.
MAP National Branding Committee Chairperson Junie del Mundo shares, “This is a really exciting first step as we start the process of country branding at the national level. While MAP has started the way with establishing the National Branding Committee last October 2011, there is a need to create an overall National Branding Council comprised of leaders from the public and private sectors to encourage, guide, and consolidate efforts by all industries and sectors in their participation for the country branding process.”
“As long as we have strong political will, effective programs, and innovative communications backing up the process, we will be on track in creating a national country brand. “adds del Mundo.
